St Marys Lodge

An innovative project designed by architects Hall-Mcknight for the  Community of St Mary The Virgin, St Mary's Lodge  provides affordable accommodation for newly qualified teachers in Oxfordshire. Located in the market town of Wantage, there are six smart and stylish one and two bedroom apartments.

Apartment features include:

  • Allocated and visitor off street parking

  • Cycle storage

  • Combination gas-boiler for heating and hot water.

  • LED lighting.

  •  BT phone/broadband lines (own connection/account required)

  • Centrally amplified & distributed TV signal (Freeview/Freesat)

  • Video Intercom to Front Door.

  • Turn-key kitchens with Oven/Hob Fridge, Freezer and Washer-Dryer (all Neff appliances)

  • Fire and intruder alarms.

  • Built-in wardrobes. Part furnished with bed, sofa and curtains/blinds. Flooring is wood, stone tile and carpet.

  • Communal garden with paddock view.

The apartments are available for a maximum of 4 years, exclusively to newly and recently qualified teachers. Monthly rent below market level. Enquiries are always welcome via the contacts page on this site, though vacancies tend to arise around the end of academic year.

CSMV

Established in 1846 CSMV has a long history of religious life in Wantage and has since its earliest days been involved in education in this country and all over the world.

The Community of St Mary the Virgin at Wantage (CSMV) and the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST) began exploring ways to work together In 2015.

The conversion of St Marys Lodge grew from these early discussions. ODST will move some of their central services team into newly converted offices at St Marys Convent in the autumn of 2019.

 

Wantage based Vale Academy Trust moved in to a converted Art Studio in the Convent grounds in the autumn of 2017.
